Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for therapists and other professionals working with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including trauma, abuse and the longer-term impact of difficult life experiences.

Supervision is offered online.

My background includes working within NHS secondary care services and specialist settings, where I have supported people whose difficulties are often long-standing and shaped by earlier experiences. This includes work in the areas of sexual abuse, domestic abuse and patterns within relationships and attachment.

I have experience supervising a range of professionals, including Clinical Associate Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners, Assistant Psychologists, Integrative Psychotherapists, Counsellors and CBT therapists.

Supervision offers a reflective space to think carefully about the work, including the emotional impact of the work on you as a practitioner, the dynamics that may be present within therapeutic relationships, and the patterns that clients bring.

My approach to supervision is relational and reflective. I aim to offer a thoughtful and containing space where the work can be explored in depth, including areas that may feel complex, uncertain or difficult to hold alone.

Particular attention is given to understanding patterns shaped by earlier experiences, how these may show up in therapy, and how we as practitioners respond to them.

Professional Training

I offer a small number of professional training workshops for those working with trauma, abuse and the longer-term impact of difficult life experiences.

These sessions are grounded in clinical practice and aim to support a deeper understanding of how these experiences can shape behaviour, relationships and ways of coping, as well as the impact of this work on the practitioner.

Training topics include:

Understanding Sexual Abuse
Exploring the psychological impact of sexual abuse, including the role of societal beliefs and misconceptions, and how these can influence survivors, professionals and wider systems.

Understanding Domestic Abuse
Developing a deeper understanding of coercive and controlling relationships, the psychological impact of abuse, and the complexities involved in making sense of these dynamics.

Vicarious Trauma
Supporting professionals to understand the emotional impact of working with trauma and how to sustain themselves safely within this work.

These workshops may contribute towards continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
